Undergraduate Research
If you are considering graduate school or just interested in learning more about research, talk with faculty to see if they have any opportunities available or if they can connect you with other research groups.
You can also check for opportunities sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). NSF funds undergraduate research through its REU Sites program. For a list of REU Sites with research relevant to computer science students, see this link. To learn more about a program or apply, contact the specific representatives listed for that institution.
Graduate School
If you are considering graduate school, talk with a faculty advisor. They can help you narrow down a list of schools and programs to apply to. Keep in mind that you'll also need two or three recommendation letters from faculty in order to apply. In addition, you may need to take the GREs.
To register to take the GREs, view the this link where you can find test dates and test locations.
If you're pursuing data science in particular, you may want to consider graduate school, as many of those jobs prefer masters degrees. Bear in mind that there is often little to no financial aid for graduate school, and if you do decide to go, you will most likely need to take out student loans, pay out of pocket or apply for scholarships that will lessen the financial blow.
And if you're not sure what you want to do after you graduate, this blog post offers some useful advice.
